Android Takes the Lead in Smartphone Marketshare, While iOS and RIM Tie for Second 5

Neilsen just released its newest round of numbers on U.S. smartphone marketshare, and our favorite little green robot found itself in first place! With an impressive 29% (it was in third place last time Nielsen released its report), Android leads both iOS and RIM, which both measured in at 27%. The best news for Android fans? Andy's sales are still on the rise, as more and more phones are dropping every few weeks, and each version of the Android OS gets more and more polish. Nobody knows for sure what the future holds, but it seems very likely that Android will continue to grow its lead in the immediate future. I, for one, welcome our new Android overlords.
