Google opening a temporary store in New York for Pixel launch

Google’s retail presence has been less than stellar, but they’re primarily a software company so it’s never really been a big deal unless you wanted to see a Nexus in store. They’ve made partnerships with places like Best Buy to try and build out a relatively small physical presence, but for the Pixel launch we might see Google take matters into their own hands. Temporarily, at least.

A “Made by Google” store is set to open in New York on October 20th, which will undoubtedly be a great place to check out the Pixel and Pixel XL before deciding on whether or not you want to purchase one. It’s a pop-up store, so don’t expect it to become a permanent staple for what Google is offering, but considering this is a big push for Google-built hardware, it only makes sense for this to help the launch.

There really isn’t much in the way of details here, but you can expect to see the Pixel, Daydream View, and Google Home in this store. And if it does well, maybe Google will set up shop in other parts of the country, too.
