Amazon Game Studios releases Air Patriots, their first Android game

Today Amazon released their first company made game into the Play Store. Air Patriots is a game that puts you in control of a squad of planes using drawing controls to direct where and when your fleet attacks their enemies. Since this is a game that is created by Amazon, it also takes advantage of their Whispersync technology for cloud saving. This game, along with the release of the cloud drive photos app,¬†gives Amazon a nice start to the month. I’m a little surprised that these apps aren’t an Amazon appstore exclusive and open to everyone in the Play Store. More images, a trailer video, and download links after the break.

I’m not 100% sure this game is the culprit, but my phone was fine before installing it. The first time I opened it, my system process crashed, and I had to reboot. On that boot, I was able to play it, and did so for about 30 minutes, then the system process crashed again when I exited it. After that, the system process would crash on boot, as soon as the launcher finished loading. It took 3 reboots to get into settings and uninstall it before system crashed and the phone became basically unresponsive. Now, after uninstalling it, I was still having these problems, and had to reflash my ROM. Things seem ok now. Like I said, I don’t know for sure that it was the game, but everything was fine before I installed it. Won’t be installing it again, or any other apps from this dev. Pretty fun game, though.
