Samsung’s new promo videos throw shade at Apple ahead of Galaxy Note 9 launch

You can often tell when Samsung is gearing up to launch a new flagship because its marketing department usually posts a bunch of promotional videos that throw shade at the company’s biggest rival, Apple. With the upcoming launch of the Galaxy Note 9 on August 9th at an Unpacked event in New York, Samsung prodding the bear with a bunch of new video ads that target iPhone 6 users as well as making fun of Apple’s store helpers.

The first video ad (above) shows an iOS user experiencing sluggish performance on her iPhone 6 who becomes jealous of the people around her using Galaxy phones that, well, just work. As you might expect, said iOS user does indeed escape from the ‘dark side’ and is mesmerized by the speed of a Samsung Galaxy phone.

We’ve already posted the video where a customer walks into the Apple Store wanting advice on dongles, the rest of the ‘Ingenius’ video ads depict a Genius at work in an Apple store advising customers to upgrade to a new, more powerful iPhone, as well as explaining download speeds download speeds. Because we are nice and all that, we’ve embedded all the ‘Ingenius’ videos beneath this paragraph for your viewing pleasure.

What do you think? Do the promo ads go too far in stereotyping Apple Store employees? Feel free to let us know your thoughts on the videos in the comments below.

How stupid can you be? Inserting the YouTube videos in a way that it is not possible to open in YouTube and like the videos there? Idiotic to let the user to search each individual video manually to be able to like it. Unbelievable

Don’t know why Samsung keeps thinking that Apple is its main competitor. It’s not Apple that’s taking Samsung’s market share. It’s the Chinese OEMs!! Such outdated thinking is why their global market share is slipping. Wake up, Samsung!
