A few weeks ago Carrot Weather launched into a quiet beta on the Play Store, finally giving Android users a taste of one of the best weather apps on iOS, which also happens to be one of my personal favorite apps, period. Today that app leaves its beta tag behind and is officially available for anyone to grab.
Carrot offers a slick way to view the weather for several days ahead, including hourly forecasts and for different locations, but it does it all with a snarky and potentially mean sense of humor. If you’ve ever wanted to get called a meatbag for wondering if you’ll need an umbrella today, this is your app.
There honestly aren’t too many new features from the beta, but you’ll get some extra polish and a solid platform for the developers to keep adding features. Some things are still lacking from the iOS version, like different voice options, achievements, and an AR mode, all of which will be very exciting to get on the Android side of the fence.
Carrot Weather is free to download and is ad-supported, but you can pay $0.99 per month or $3.99 per year to join the Premium Club which removes ads and brings a few extra features on board, like the Time Machine feature to viewing the weather up to 70 years in the past.
Downloading the app definitely won’t cause an earthquake in your city within the next week. Promise.
