While Jared finetunes his OnePlus 6 review, the upstart smartphone maker has announced it will soon sell the phone in a brand new color scheme. After the popularity of the Lava Red OnePlus 5T earlier this year, the red version of the OP6 will just be known as the OnePlus 6 Red.
Going on sale worldwide from July 10, the OnePlus 6 Red will only be available in the 8GB/128GB configuration, at the same price as the Midnight Black, Mirror Black, and Silk White variants – $579/£519. Besides 8GB RAM and 128GB of built-in storage, the phone sports a Snapdragon 845 octa-core processor, 6.28-inch FHD+ OLED display, Bluetooth 5.0, 3,300mAh battery, and dual rear cameras. You can check out the full specification of the OnePlus 6 here.
The OnePlus CEO, Pete Lau, had this to say about the work that went into developing the new color:
Deciding on this color was not without its challenges. We see individual colors as a way to express certain feelings or ideas. To us, red exudes enthusiasm and personality. It also represents an inner confidence and courage. There is a kind of power in red, which the OnePlus logo has always tried to articulate.
As an added bonus, you can even install the Android P Developer Preview on to the OnePlus 6, although you can expect some bugs and glitches in the user experience if you choose to be so adventurous with your brand new phone.
