Google Pixel 3 XL sticks with OLED display

Google Pixel 3 leaks and rumors are on the uptick as we head into the summer months and we have yet another one today. This comes on the heels of news that the Pixel 3 XL will hit the market sporting a notch in the display. Over on Weibo today, tipster Ice Universe posted an update on the display for the Pixel 3 XL indicating the device will have an OLED display and adding another data point to the presence of a notch in the display.

According to the claims, LG Display will be the supplier for the Pixel 3 XL screens. Last year for the Pixel 2 XL, LG was the manufacturer for the device. Although unclear, it is thought that LG Display is the sole provider of screens for the Pixel 3 XL. That could mean LG is once again serving as the manufacturer of the larger Pixel device. Last year production was split between HTC and LG for the Pixel 2 and the Pixel 2 XL respectively. There have been no leaks yet regarding manufacturers of either device for the upcoming smartphones.

Unless Qualcomm makes some significant strides in the next couple months, the Pixel 3 devices are expected to launch with a Snapdragon 845 processor, the current state of the art chip for smartphones. Matched to that should be 6GB of RAM and device storage ranging from 64GB to 256GB, although 128GB is expected to be the standard amount. One item many will be watching for is whether Google decides to jump on the dual camera bandwagon.
