HTC is expected to launch U12+ flagship at May 23rd event

The month of May is shaping up to be a busy month regarding smartphone launches with the LG G7 ThinQ launching yesterday, the Honor 10 launch (European) on May 15, and the OnePlus 6 launch the day after. We now know that we have a fourth launch event on May 23rd to contend with, where HTC will likely unveil the U12+

There have been a few leaks in recent times about the U12+, the latest of which consisted of some alleged images of the handset in the wild. It’s believed that the U12+ will follow the trend by incorporating a notch into its 6-inch QHD+ display and that it will feature a dual rear camera setup with 12MP and a 16MP sensors, as well as dual 8MP front-facing cameras.

Besides having a Snapdragon 845 processor and up to 6GB of RAM under the hood, the U12+ is thought to have a 3,420mAh battery as well as IP68 water and dust resistance. Software-wise, the U12+ will reportedly support Google’s Project Treble which should help with speeding up firmware updates.

Are you looking forward to seeing what HTC announces on May 23 and do you think the Taiwanese handset maker will launch its newest flagship in the US this time around?
