Android 8.0 Oreo is finally (officially) rolling out to the Galaxy S8

The wait is finally over for Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ users. The Android 8.0 Oreo update finished its beta stages a few weeks ago, and now it’s starting to deploy to phones. Its first official release will be in Germany, but everyone else should follow very closely behind, barring any carrier interference.

Beta users will be the first to see the update, with regular users just a few hours after that. It’s roughly half a gigabyte in size and includes the February 2018 security patch.

The update brings the Galaxy S8 up to Android 8.0 and brings a ton of new features, but you’ll also get Samsung Experience 9.0 which comes with its own set of tweaks and enhancements exclusive to Samsung’s current crop of flagship devices.

Keep an eye out for the update, and be sure to let us know if you get it.
