HP is readying two new Chromebooks to be shown at CES 2018 next before hitting markets in February 2018. The HP Chromebook 14 G5 and the HP Chromebook 11 G6 will expand HP’s Chromebook portfolio and give buyers in the business and education sectors new options to choose from. One unique characteristic both devices get is a ruggedized design that meets MIL-STD 810G military standards for durability.
The sizes of the screens will be 14-inches for the Chromebook 14 G5 and 11.6-inches for the Chromebook 11 G6. The latter device is more appropriate for education sector buyers according to HP while the former is expected to be marketed more to business sector users.
In addition to the ruggedized design that may open up their use to more varied environments, HP designed both devices so that the screen can be swung open a full 180 degrees, meaning they can lay flat on a table or other surface.
Other hardware included in the new devices include Intel Celeron processors, HD touch screen capabilities will be an available option, up to 8GB of RAM, up to 64GB of onboard storage, and a front-facing HD camera.
HP has not revealed pricing for either device, but that may be available next week at CES 2018 where the devices will be on display.
