“When is my phone getting the Oreo update?” is a question many are asking right now, with manufacturers sometimes being less than transparent with their answers. For Honor phone owners at least, there is some good news on the matter, thanks to the company’s CEO, George Zao, confirming a list of Honor handsets scheduled to get the Android 8.0 Oreo update.
The list of devices came from an interview that the Honor CEO had with a Serbian website. For the most part, the list of eligible devices consists of the phones you’d expect to see, all of Honor’s big hitters since August 2016. One notable omission is the Honor 6X which is rumored to be updated to Android 8.0 in early January of 2018. You can check out the list of eligible handsets below:
The Oreo update will include battery life enhancements as well as EMUI 8. The Honor CEO said that the Oreo update was already in testing for the Honor 8 and Honor 8 Pro handsets, with the Honor 7X following suit soon after. This is good news for 7X owners as it was a surprise that the handset launched running Android 7.1.1 Nougat in the first place.
