Google plans to launch a new Chromebook Pixel and mini Google Home this year

Google is gearing up to drop the Pixel 2 later this year, but that’s not all they’re going to announce. A new rumor suggests a few other devices should be unveiled at a hardware event in the fall, including a miniature Google Home and a brand new Chromebook.

The Chromebook is expected to replace the Chromebook Pixel and should keep the Pixel branding, although other details are pretty scarce. The last rumor about a beefy Google laptop from last year were about a device with a 12.3-inch screen, up to 128GB of internal storage, up to 16GB of RAM, and an optional Wacom stylus. That could be related to this device, but we won’t know for sure until Google announces something.

The other device is a smaller version of the Google Home, which sounds like it’ll go head to head with Amazon’s Echo Dot. Google Home is already cheaper than the Amazon Echo, but for someone wanting to put devices all over their house or use their own speakers, a smaller gadget with a cheaper price tag stands to be very popular.

Even if you weren’t hyped about the Pixels later this year, there should be something at the event to pique your interest.
