Motorola teases the next bold phone announcement for June 1st

Motorola has been on a roll these last couple years putting out powerful, yet affordable smartphones as well as its own series of modular accessories known as Moto Mods. Now, thanks to Motorola Canada’s Twitter, we can expect the announcement of the Lenovo-owned company’s “next bold phone” on June 1st.

As you can see above, the tweet from Motorola Canada pretty much sums it up. No information is given about what phone this will be and the animated GIF shows an excited woman with a bold new hairstyle and the Moto logo flying out from her face.

It’s very possible that the phone in question is the Moto Z2 Play. We’ve seen a number of leaks recently about the successor to the very popular Moto Z Play, so unless Moto has kept something very secret, it’s likely to be this phone. What we already anticipate for the Moto Z2 Play is a 5.5-inch Full HD display, Snapdragon 626, and unfortunately a smaller 3,000mAh battery compared to last year’s model.

In the leaked image above, you can see that the Moto Z2 Play will retain most of the design language from its first iteration, and is still a very sleek device. Of course, nothing is certain until Motorola makes an announcement, but with the June 1st date now official, we won’t have to wait much longer to see what’s in store!
