Google Assistant has some neat holiday tricks up its sleeve

Google Assistant may not have gotten off to a great start with being exclusive to Google Allo for awhile, but it’s definitely a lot better than Google Now. And now, Google seems to have added some holiday-themed features to Assistant, including the ability to track Santa.

Google has added Santa Tracker integration into Assistant. So, when speaking to Assistant, all you have to say is “Track Santa” and it’ll give you a text response. On the other hand, if you say “Track Santa” in Allo, all you’ll get in response is a link to the Santa Tracker website.

You can also request that Assistant tell you a Santa-themed joke by saying “Tell me a Santa joke” or something related. You’ll get some fairly humorous replies.

Lastly, if Hanukkah is more your flavor, you can play a little Spin the Dreidel with Assistant. It will, at random, pick one of the dreidel’s four sides and then tell you which side you got.

This update is certainly a minor feature, but little additions like this make Assistant feel all that more polished. If you’ve got a Pixel, Pixel XL, Google Home or use the Google Allo app, all of these commands should work no problem.
