Cricket Wireless announced today that the Alcatel Idol 4 will be an exclusive to the AT&T subsidiary, set to launch on August 5.
Starting on August 5, Cricket Wireless will begin offering the Alcatel Idol 4 for $200 with activation on one of the carrier’s smartphone plans.
The Idol 4 has a 5.2-inch Full HD display, a Snapdragon 617 processor, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, a 13MP rear camera, an 8MP front camera and a 2,610mAh battery.
With the Idol 4 from Cricket Wireless, you’re getting more than just a phone, but an entire virtual reality package. In the package is also a hard plastic case that doubles as virtual reality goggles, allowing you to view and play 360-degree images, videos and games.
Alcatel announced the Idol 4 and 4S way back in February during this year’s Mobile World Congress convention, but we haven’t heard much about either device since then until now. This could’ve been because of an offer from BlackBerry, but nothing has been confirmed yet.
Either way, Cricket Wireless will have the exclusive on the Idol 4. But, if you’d rather have the better Idol 4S, pre-orders just recently opened straight from Alcatel and begin shipping in August.
Anyone looking forward to the Idol 4 on Cricket Wireless?
