Samsung’s Galaxy A8 launch date, specifications and pricing details emerge

The upcoming Galaxy A8 has been in the news recently; first it was confirmed to be carrying a fingerprint sensor, then it was manhandled in a video and later appeared in a brochure. Now we have firm details on its launch date as well as its price. Join us after the break for more details.

According to nowhereelse, the Galaxy A8 will go on sale in China from July 17th, retailing for around €439 ($485). Besides having a fingerprint sensor baked into the Home button, the Galaxy A8 will also sport the following specifications:

  • Android 5.1.1 lollipop
  • 5.7-Inch Full HD Super-AMOLED display (386ppi)
  • Snapdragon 615 Octa-core processor (64-bit)
  • Adreno 405 GPU
  • 2GB RAM
  • 16GB Internal storage
  • MicroSD card support
  • 16MP Rear camera with f/1.9 aperture and flash (ISOCELL)
  • 5MP Front camera
  • Battery: 3,050mAh
  • Dimensions: 157.7 x 76.7 x 5.9mm
  • Colour options: Black, white, gold
