According to a report published in China this weekend, Xiaomi is getting ready to launch a high-end Redmi Note successor which it hopes will take on Meizu’s recently-announced MX4.

The device is set to pack a 5.5-inch display, be powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6595 chipset with four 2.2GHz Cortex-A17 and four 1.7GHz Cortex A-7 cores, include 3GB of RAM, incorporate a 20.7-megapixel rear-facing camera, as well as an astonishing 8-megapixel front-facing shooter and a 3,500 mAh non-removable battery.

This new flagship is expected to be available in 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB models, priced at $165, $215 and $245, respectively. Unfortunately, the price of the largest variant is still unknown.
