Will the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 sport a flexible display? Most likely not

A couple of days ago we told you about the rumored specs for the upcoming Galaxy Note 2, which will probably release in the Fall. Now a newspaper in Korea is reporting that it will sport a 5.3-inch flexible display. We’ve heard a lot about flexible displays by Samsung, but they aren’t expected to be in production till next year. This seems like someone just spreading rumors. Like that hasn’t ever happened before!!

Anyways, if you really want to spread a rumor, it seems more likely that the Galaxy S IV will sport a flexible display in May of 2013. I’m not making any predictions nor is that from any information. I’m just trying to be realistic. What do you guys think? It would be cool to see the next Note in a flexible display, but I’m just not buying it.

  • I think we’re quite far from having devices with flexible displays. The display being flexible is not all you need for a flexible device, you would have to find a way to make the battery and casing bend with the display and I think we’re very very far from that…
I think that right now the most likely use for flexible displays is a comeback of the flip phones…

    • i understand what ur saying but could possibly be extra screen???? by looking at pic above thats what i was imagining

      • It could be, but I don’t think it’s gonna be implemented this way. I think that would add an extra thickness to the device that the manufacturers are shying away from… except for nokia with the pureview phone which is 5 miles thick,,,lol

It makes sense to me. I really do think that’s what the next Note will sport. October, alongside the new iPhone 5, sounds like the most logical release date. A flexible Note is the only thing that can sway consumers waiting to purchase their phone as the iPhone 5 comes out.

I think it would be possible for themnote to have aflexible screen if the screen alone raised for the top of the device
