Previously known as the HTC Dream, the T-Mobile G1 is the first handset to be released with the Google Android operating system.

Nicknamed the Google Phone and designed by HTC, the G1 is an internet enabled smartphone and is available exclusively on the T-Mobile network. The T-Mobile G1 was released across the United States on October 22, 2008 with prices starting at $179.99 as part of a two-year T-Mobile voice and data plan.

The G1 is also available without a contract, priced at $399.

Following the US release, the G1 launched across the United Kingdom on October 30th, 2008. It is expected to launch across the rest of Europe (Germany, Netherlands and Czech Republic) in early 2009.
