If you have a device running Cyanogenmod 11 and want to at least get the look of the new Android L Material Design on your device, a new theme has been put together that will let you install it using the CM11 Theme engine. The theme comes with Google’s new boot animation for Android L, the new font, wallpapers, system bars, ringtones, icons, the transparent SystemUI, a new themed calculator, and new colors in a variety of apps. The theme was put together by XDA member OP.
We’re only a few days from Halloween, but there’s still time to get into the spirit with SwiftKey. They just updated their keyboard app to fix a few bugs, but they included a new black and orange Halloween theme called, “Pumkin.”

If you’re quite the themer like myself then you probably go through quite a bit in a week’s time. And searching the entire Android Market for a theme compatible with your launcher can be daunting. Wouldn’t it be nice if all of the themes on the Android Market could be organized for you despite what launcher you’re using? Look no further. N3xGen Theme Manager, by Bentotbox, has provided just what you’re looking for. If you are sporting any of the following launchers, you’re in luck:
- ADW Ex
- Launcher Pro
- Launcher Pro Plus
- T-Mobile Theme Chooser
- And custom roms that support Theme Chooser
If you enjoy theming your phone as much as I do, then this is an app for you! The current Android Market does not support the wide array of themes that it could. This is where N3xGen Theme Manager steps in. It takes the chaos of themes in the market and organizes them into an application dedicated to themes.
Thanks to N3xGen Theme Manager, searching for themes has never been easier. If you’re ready to give it a go you can head on over to our popular apps database for the download along with a QR code or you can snag it on the Android Market. Keep in mind that this application is currently still in beta so supply the developer with as much feedback as you can, so as to improve the application for better daily use. And as always, don’t forget to let us know what you think in the comments below. Hit the break for a few more screen shots and to check out a video demo of the app in action.
The Go Dev Team is at it again and this time they’re giving you a little iPhone love for your Android device. If you’ve been sporting Go’s latest launcher application we’re sure you’re enjoying the many skinning and thematic options available to you. Well, now you can add iPhone’s look and feel to the list. The theme, created by Sam1374 over at eSeth.net, a site dedicated to making themes for Android, iPhone and Nokia’s OS, is one of the nicest looking themes we’ve seen yet.
One of the first things you’ll notice is the cool stressed leather appearance along with gorgeous looking icons. The UI, without a doubt, is slick looking and the black background gives your home screen a unique and contemporary feel. If you’ve been looking for a theme reminiscent of Apple’s popular handset but want to enjoy that look and feel on the beautiful large displays which Android offers, look no further. If you don’t already have Go Launcher EX you can download it here. And if you’re ready to give the theme a try head on over to our popular apps database where you can find a QR code available. And if you prefer, you can snatch the app up on the Android Market as well. Hit the break for a few more screen shots of the cool theme and don’t forget to let us know what you think of it in the comments below.
If you’re a Sense 3.0 user, like that found on the Evo 3D and Sensation 4G, you might find it worthwhile checking this little tidbit out. XDA member cypis has released a pretty cool theme offering improved performance in the UI aesthetics and scrolling department. The developer is looking for more users and feedback. So, if you’re ready to give it a go, check out the XDA thread link here and don’t forget to let us know what you think of the added functionality and looks in the comments below.
From The Developer:
Hello. I missed a little after cool slate theme from 2.1 Sense ROMs so I decided to make it myself.
This is not cheap and EMO theme with thousands of colors . Just pure elegance in 3D (screenshot’s in second post).
Its intended to work on ALL Sense 3.0 devices even on ports.

The GO Launcher Dev Team continues to put out good, simple and effective widgets for their applications. Their latest productivity application is a cool calendar widget for the home screen. Calendar GOwidget is a simple way to view all of your day to day activities in a very simple and sleek interface. It’s like having the full functionality of the calendar application without having to actually drill down into it. You get a couple of different views with the app, month and agenda view. To run this widget you’ll need the latest version of GO Launcher EX which you can find here. For Calendar GOwidget, check it out on our popular apps database with a QR Code available or head on over to the Android Market. Hit the break to check out more screenshots and don’t forget to let us know what you think of it in the comments below.
One of the greatest features, among so many of CyanogenMod 7, is the awesome themes engine. With all kinds of themes to choose from, CM7 packs it all. But what if you’re looking for a Honeycomb theme? better yet, what if you need a Honeycomb theme for your tablet device? Got that covered too.
XDA Member mad-murdock has put together a great theme based off Honeycomb and optimized for tablets. He’s taken the original Honeybread theme for CM7 on smartphones and customized the sizes of icons, widgets and the general UI to show nicely on a larger screen resolution. Also, if you’re the coding type, the source is available for anyone to work with as well.

[CM7][Theme]HoneyBread Alpha 4 [TABLET TWEAKED]
After i developed the tablet tweaks, a lot of people started modifying framework and systemui to exchange the buttons instead of doing it with a theme. the way they were going just was bad by design. no fixes are included except those people repeat their work with every new nightly build. thats the reason we use theme engine by now. it works for all devices and all versions.
my initial complaints about modifying those files and my suggestion to use a theme were ignored – so i came to the point to do it myself.
all i did was adding honeycomb icons for the soft buttons to the already existing honeybread v4 theme
The theme is in Alpha stage, meaning some functionality may not work, but isn’t that the beauty of open source alpha releases anyway? Head on over here to grab this tablet theme.
XDA member adam2010 has designed a new theme currently for the Google Nexus One device called ADAMOID LuxurY DeSIGn using the CM7 ROM. You can have a bigger look at the screenshot above by clicking here. This theme is a very nice looking package, with changes to the general look and most apps. The theme includes MIUI Music, Go Contacts, Go Launcher (themed) and Go Launcher Classic 2 as well.
To install this theme, you can get the package from the application thread, and you’ll need to extract it as its not a flashable package. Extract it to your SD card, then go into recovery mode and flash it. If you love this theme, but have another device besides the Nexus One, go to the same application thread and submit your vote on what device he should build this theme for next.
One of the coolest things I’ve loved about Android from the beginning is the fact that the OS has always been diverse and flexible. Your phone won’t feel outdated a year from now because there will always be some hack, app or skin to keep it up to date and in the game. So it’s no surprise that the folks over at XDA bring us yet again, something “fresh”. XDA member spirellilein has developed a variety of new gingerbread themed clock skins for your aesthetic pleasure and viewing. There are six different skins for you to choose from so your phone will never again feel “bland in the hand”. He’s even taking requests for colors, fonts and anything else you’re willing to send him. So, head on over to XDA for the instructions on how to download the skins and let us know what you think of them in the comments below.
