Amazon and Target offer the Samsung Galaxy S III for $149.99

by Adam Johnson on
tagged , , ,

Target and Amazon Wireless have been quick to push out this deal to existing AT&T customers. I don’t doubt if you haven’t upgraded to a new Android device recently there’s a pretty good reason. That reason is most likely you’re waiting on the Samsung Galaxy S III. And if you frugal (read: cheap) like me you should jump on this deal. Both Amazon and Target are now offering the SGS3 for $149.99 as an upgrade with a new contract. This deal is a bit different than usual. The best discount is being offered to those wanting to upgrade, and that’ll make the AT&T customers happy I’m sure. If you’re considering leaving your current carrier and signing with AT&T you’ll have to pay a whole $40 more at $189.99 to get your hands on this latest and greatest Samsung handset.

Choices are great aren’t they? So if you’re in the market for a Samsung Galaxy S III check out the sources for your next upgrade to the latest Samsung Android phone on the market.

Verizon Wireless rolls out $50 unlimited prepaid plan

by Robert Nazarian on
tagged , , , , , ,

Back in April, Verizon Wireless started testing a $50 unlimited plan for prepaid phones in select markets. It obviously went well because they are going to make it nationally available this week.

The $50 per month fee will include unlimited talk, text, and Web use. It will be available in Verizon stores, Best Buy, Wal-Mart, and Target.

As phone prices come down, the prepaid segment is only going to grow. Right now Verizon only has 4.4 million prepaid customers, and in contrast, Sprint has 13.8 million customers.

“This is a very competitive market, and we want to make sure we have a price portfolio to fit a greater number of customers,” Verizon spokesperson Brenda Raney said. “In these times, there are some people who would prefer living on a prepaid plan.”

LG Thrill 4G for AT&T is available at Costco for $29.99

by Robert Nazarian on
tagged , , , , , ,

The AT&T LG Thrill 4G took forever to get to market, but it looks like they are going to price this thing right to move. AT&T wants $99.99 for it, but we already know Target and Radio Shack will offer it for $79.99.

Now we are hearing Costco will sell it for $29.99. It is not supposed to launch until September 4th, but it appears that it has already shown up in some stores (Kansas and Missouri). Even if you have to wait until Sunday, $29.99 seems like a more than reasonable price for this one, especially if you are wanting to get a 3D phone. Who is planning on buying this one?

AT&T will launch the LG Thrill 4G on September 4 for $99, Or grab it for $79 at Radio Shack or Target

by Robert Nazarian on

It has been a long wait for the LG Thrill 4G (Optimus 3D). For those of you on AT&T yearning for a 3D phone, you can finally grab one this Sunday, September 4th for $99.99 (with a 2-year contract) through AT&T stores or online.

We have also told you that Radio Shack and Target will carry it for $79.99 with the same 2-year contract or $550 off contract. We don’t have confirmation if it will be in Target stores this Sunday, but the above image gives confirmation that Radio Shack will have it. It is very likely they will sell it to you earlier.

Who is ready for a little 3D this Labor Day weekend?

AT&T LG Thrill shows up in a Target circular for $79

by Robert Nazarian on
tagged , , , , , , ,

We have been hearing about the LG Thrill (aka LG Optimus 3D) for a while now. The big question is when will it be released? The latest rumor has September 4, but nothing is firm.

Target has a price on it for $79.99 ($549.99 off contract) which isn’t a shocker since Radio Shack was taking pre-orders for the same prices. With specs that include an OMAP4 dual-core processor, it is surprising that it will come with Android 2.2 Froyo. This is unacceptable, but if you are on AT&T and really want 3D, this is the phone for you. As when you can actually pick one up, stay tuned to TalkAndroid to find out.

Walmart Officially Hops On The Android App Scene, Available For Download In The Market

by Joe Sirianni on
tagged , , , , , , , , , , , ,

In light of all the department store apps we’ve seen make it to the Android Market, such as Target, Sears2go, Kmart2go, Amazon and though it’s not a physical dept store, even Overstock, it appears that Walmart is feeling a little left out.  So, without further ado, let me introduce you to the official Walmart application for Android.  Despite all the Walmart horror stories, I happen to be a big fan, simply because I’m a cheep son of a gun and no one has better discounted items in my area than big blue themselves.  The app allows you to see the valued item of the day, view their inventory from home ensuring the product is available in-store and even allows you to locate store hours and directions for your area.  For me, I can sum it up in one word…convenience.  Ready for the download?  Head on over to our apps database for the snatch and grab along with the QR code or check it out on the Android Market for your added convenience.  And don’t forget to hit the break to check out more screenshots of app.
