Rogers announces Android 4.0 update schedule for select devices

Software updates can be a dreaded nuisance for any smartphone owner, but when carriers openly share information, it tends to make things more bearable. Rogers has decided to take this route by sharing an Android 4.0 update timeline for numerous devices. Included in the list is Samsung’s original Galaxy Tab 10.1 and 8.9, as well as multiple Xperia handsets.

  • HTC EVO 3D – Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0) – Now available
  • Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 – Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0) – Early September
  • Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 – Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0) – Early September
  • Samsung Galaxy Note – Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0) – Now available
  • Sony Xperia Arc S (LT18a) – Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0) – Early September
  • Sony Xperia Arc (LT15a) – Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0) – Early September
  • Sony Xperia Mini Pro (SK17a) – Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0) – Early September

Sony: Xperia Ice Cream Sandwich Updates Still On Target

Just in case you’re still waiting for your Sony Xperia phone to get updated to Android 4.0, Sony took some time to update the community on the progress of the rollout. Nordic countries are currently receiving the upgrade, and Sony is working with carriers in various regions to get the upgrade out to all Xperia phones, including the Arc S, Neo V, and Ray. In other words, not much has changed since the last time Sony told us about the update. Sony just wanted to let everyone know that things are progressing as planned and to sit tight.
