Purple Samsung Galaxy S III may be headed to Sprint

According to a tip delivered to web site PhoneArena.com, Samsung may be preparing a purple version of the popular Samsung Galaxy S III to be available through Sprint. The tipster claims to have grabbed a screenshot from one of Sprint’s web portals that provides details of updated handsets scheduled for upcoming launches. Included in the list is a “Samsung Galaxy S III 16GB, Purple.” It appears the device will be released on April 12th though no other details like pricing have surfaced.

No images have surfaced of this purple device and no official word has been released by either Samsung or Sprint.

HTC EVO 3D to Also Release in Purple for Best Buy

So hey, more colors (and by extension, more choices) are good, right? According to Pocketnow, the coveted HTC EVO 3D will be seeing an additional color of not only RadioShack white, but Best Buy purple. While this isn’t too much of a surprise, given Best Buy’s exclusive release of the white HTC EVO 4G, the third color is definitely something of note. Hopefully, this is something we’ll see in the future, as more choice is good for everyone, particularly the consumer. So what do you think? Black, white, or purple? Let us know in the comments!

Sprint announces that the LG Optimus S will be available November 7 for $49.99

Sprint has announced that they will be releasing the Android 2.2 powered LG Optimus S beginning November 7 for $49.99 with a new two-year contract.

The phone will be initially available in a Charcoal color, with a Purple model being released on November 21. In addition to Android 2.2, the Optimus S will feature the following:

• 3.2-inch capacitive touch-screen

• Virtual QWERTY keyboard
