hugely important news coming from Sprint today— they will be offering a purple variant of the Samsung Galaxy S 4 come August 16. Obviously the phone will still have the same specs as it does on any other carrier, in every other color— 5-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB of RAM and Android 4.2 on-board. According to a tip delivered to web site PhoneArena.com, Samsung may be preparing a purple version of the popular Samsung Galaxy S III to be available through Sprint. The tipster claims to have grabbed a screenshot from one of Sprint’s web portals that provides details of updated handsets scheduled for upcoming launches. Included in the list is a “Samsung Galaxy S III 16GB, Purple.” It appears the device will be released on April 12th though no other details like pricing have surfaced.
No images have surfaced of this purple device and no official word has been released by either Samsung or Sprint.

So hey, more colors (and by extension, more choices) are good, right? According to Pocketnow, the coveted HTC EVO 3D will be seeing an additional color of not only RadioShack white, but Best Buy purple. While this isn’t too much of a surprise, given Best Buy’s exclusive release of the white HTC EVO 4G, the third color is definitely something of note. Sprint has announced that they will be releasing the Android 2.2 powered LG Optimus S beginning November 7 for $49.99 with a new two-year contract.
The phone will be initially available in a Charcoal color, with a Purple model being released on November 21. In addition to Android 2.2, the Optimus S will feature the following:
