As we patiently wait for October 29th to arrive, we are expecting to see at least one addition to the Nexus family, the LG Nexus. After countless leaks for the past month and much speculation, we think we may finally have a somewhat concrete idea of what the upcoming device giving the true “Google Experience” will offer. The device will as always, introduce new technology— while making existing technology a little bit better. LG Nexus could be priced at $399 and be called the Optimus Nexus

Everyone is LG Nexus 4 crazy for obvious reasons. What’s really surprising is that the device could be shipped from the Google Play Store within a next few weeks, October 29 to be exact.

Even though this information relies solely on rumors, ByteNow expects that the price will be around the $399 mark, well-priced for a device that is likely to support the speedy 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor, and the crystal clear SLCD display.

There could be one possible flaw that the Nexus might have with certain carriers. The upcoming superphone isn’t expected to carry LTE support, leaving Verizon Wireless in the dust. The recent FCC filing doesn’t mention LTE at all. This means the only U.S. carriers to support the device will be AT&T, T-Mobile, and the smaller MNVO’s. Though that may seem alright with many users, customers of Big Red will miss out on a spectacular device, just like with the predecessors of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Lastly, the name of the device isn’t official, but now the latest rumor suggests it will be called the Optimus Nexus. A name we’ve heard before.

When It Rains… It Pours: More Leaked Photos Of The LG Nexus Surface

As we get closer and closer to the inevitable announcement of Google’s newest addition to the Nexus family, we now see yet another leaked photo of the Nexus 4 (or Optimus Nexus, whatever you prefer). Belerusian website Onliner.by obtained some sweet photos of the LG E960. As you can see off the bat, the device seems to feature a special coating and the traditional Google & LG logos on the back, while the front is all screen, nearly identical to the existing Galaxy Nexus smartphone. All in all, these photos seem to line up with the previous shots that we’ve seen before.

In addition to the photos that have surfaced, the website also takes some time to confirm some specs that were previously rumored to be featured in the smartphone. As of now, Onliner.by highlights the newest upcoming Nexus will feature a 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 2 gigs of RAM, a 1280×768 HD display, 8MP rear camera and 8GB of on-board storage. Leave it to the Nexus line to stay consistent with featuring the best features and cutting edge technology.

Newest LG Nexus leaked pictures reveal more of its design

It sure has been an exciting, leak filled week for those following all of the newest LG Nexus news. From the first signs of the device in the FCC filings to that strange shot of a bowl of spaghetti, the leaks seem to be coming on a daily basis. This latest set of shots comes courtesy of a generous poster over at the XDA forums. As mentioned before, the LG Nexus looks very similar to the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, save for a little shine around the bezel. As far as the innards, here is what the poster reveals:

  • CPU: quad core ARMv7 1.5GHz
  • RAM: 2 GB
  • Memory: 8GB (no SD slot)
  • GPU: Adreno 320
  • Android version: JellyBeanMR1
  • Kernel 3.4.0
  • Screen: 768×1184 (320 dpi)
  • Camera: 8 MP

 

Although it may look the same as the Galaxy Nexus, it’s obviously packing a much bigger punch, and with that resolution and DPI, we can deduce that it’ll rock close to a 4.7-inch display. All of these specs fall directly in line with the FCC filing that we ran across last week which revealed a GSM device that’ll lack LTE capabilities which eliminates early thoughts of this device possibly being the Optimus G, but it will still hold its own. At this rate we should hopefully see an official announcement soon. Camera samples from LG’s Nexus smartphone leak

After yesterday’s leaked images of LG’s Nexus smartphone, camera samples from the device have made their way to the internet. A slew of photos have hit Google’s Picasa web albums, each designated to have come from the same LG device, codenamed Mako. It appears that both users who uploaded photos are employees of LG Korea, though this hasn’t been confirmed.

Most of the images are 3264×2448 in size which leads us to believe the camera utilizes an 8-megapixel sensor. So, unless the users changed the image size within the camera settings, it seems as though the next Nexus device will sport an 8MP camera. There’s always the possibility that the EXIF data could have been faked, but it seems unlikely. We’ve embedded the full set of images after the break. LG Optimus Nexus appears in set of leaked images

After weeks of countless rumors, the LG Optimus Nexus has purportedly been spotted in the wild. A set of leaked images show off a black slab styled smartphone, similar to LG’s Optimus G, though the device in question appears to be running atop stock Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.

The device has been given the moniker “Mako”, which lines up nicely with the aquatic codenames of past Nexus devices. Despite the bump in the Android version, the smartphone’s homescreen, icons and status bar remain nearly identical to what we’ve grown accustomed to in Android 4.1.

On the exterior, however, several tweaks have been made to the physical body of the device, compared to the original LG Optimus G. Most notably, the rear camera and flash have been repositioned, hinting at the fact that there could very well be different internals inside.

Given that the LG E960 has already passed the stringent guidelines of the FCC, this may very well be the device that has been making headlines over the past few weeks. In terms of hardware, details remain scarce. However, you can browse the entire set of photos after the break. » Read the rest

If you remember, several months ago it was reported that Google would offer several Nexus devices later this year, and we reported that they would announce five such devices on Android’s 5th birthday. Since then the rumormill has been quiet except for this morning’s news on a Galaxy Nexus with some minor spec bumps. Just like last year at this time, the rumors started flowing hot and heavy, and it appears we are in for another ride.
