Virgin has attempted to come up with a couple of “budget friendly” plans. The first plan is expected to cost you $50 per month while the other one at $65 per month. Here’s what you can expect to have on each respective plan.
$50 Smartphone plan ($50/month):
- 200 anytime minutes
- Unlimited evening and weekends starting at 6PM
- Unlimited Canada-wide calling to 10 buddies
- Unlimited Canada, U.S., International text and picture messaging
- Voicemail and Caller ID
- 100MB data, or Unlimited BlackBerry social
$65 Smartphone plan ($65/month):
- 200 anytime minutes
- Unlimited evening and weekends starting at 6PM
- Unlimited Canada-wide calling to 10 buddies
- Unlimited Canada, U.S., International text and picture messaging
- Voicemail and Caller ID
- 1GB data
Bell also has similar plans but offers a bonus 10 hours of Mobile TV on the $65 per month plan. These plans are available starting today for new and existing postpaid customers and will continue to be until further notice.
I actually find these plans to be expensive for what they’re giving you. 200 minutes along with 100MB’s of data is hardly enough these days, even for $50 per month. Either way, these plans are still new and I’m sure Virgin is testing out how it will be perceived by customers.
