I could have sworn we we’re supposed to be in the future by now. Sure, we’ve got mobile internet, mobile phone calls, mobile video chat, among other great innovations, but we’re definitely missing some things. Now I can live without the flying cars, considering most people have problems driving on just one dimensional plane. Safe is best. But hey, what about teleportation? And about mobile television? Somehow, despite our advances in technology, mobile television has yet to really take off. Thankfully, AT&T has done an excellent job of trying to push the television industry kicking and screaming towards the future with their U-Verse offering. Even better, if you’ve got an LG Thrive, LG Phoenix, or Samsung Infuse, you can now partake of some mobile TV action, along with the company’s previous stable of U-Verse mobile compatible devices. Check out the press release after the break, and be sure to send us some comments from the future if you decide to check it out. Also, sending some schematics for a flux capacitor wouldn’t be bad either.
The LG Thrive will be available on April 17 on AT&T as its first prepaid smartphone. The LG Phoenix will also debut on April 17, which is the same exact phone, but will only be offered as a contract-only smartphone. The only difference between the two phones is the color. The Thrive is silver and the Phoenix is dark blue.
