Those of you who have been looking to get some Jelly Bean lovin’ courtesy of the CyanogenMod team will be all smiles at this news. The CM team has officially announced the final CM10 stable builds are being released for a handful of devices at this time. The lucky devices to make the first cut at the Sprint and Verizon Galaxy S III, Samsung Galaxy S II LTE and LG Optimus Black smartphones. Unfortunately those devices are the only ones with a stable CM10 build as of now and there is no timeline for when other devices can finally taste the stable goodness just yet. Hopefully the CM team will work its magic and roll out additional builds to the other devices sooner than later.

Are you a little bummed that Boost Mobile only offers 3 different Android phones at this time? Well you in luck! A couple press shots just popped up over at Pocketnow showing 2 more Android devices that will soon be on their way to the prepaid carrier.
The LG Optimus Black (aka Sprint Marquee), and the full QWERTY Samsung Replenish, will soon be added to Boost Mobile’s line-up. We don’t quite have any definitive release date info, but we suspect they will arrive sometime in the first half of 2012. One bit of cool news to report is that LG had earlier confirmed that the Optimus Black is slated to receive the Android 4.0 update sometime in the future. ICS on Boost, Woot!
Sprint announces the LG Marquee today, also known as the LG Optimus Black, that’s set to be released on October 2nd. The Marquee will have a 4-inch 480 x 800 (WVGA) NOVA Display that’s supposed to have better indoor and outdoor visibility along with reduced power consumption compared to conventional LCDs. Loaded with Android 2.3 and a 1GHz processor it also has 5MP rear and a 2MP front cameras, Swype built in, Sprint ID, WiFi, GPS, bluetooth, 2GB included microSD expandable to 32GB, 512MG RAM, 2GB ROM, and a 1500 mAh battery.
You can catch it on pre-sale that will run for one week starting Sept. 20th. Anyone who purchases the Marquee on pre-order will also start to receive their devices a little early starting Sept. 29th. The price will be set at $99 on contract with a $50 mail-in rebate to boot. Another note in the press release is that this device will be launched at MADE Fashion week in NYC. Stacy London from TLC’s What Not To Wear show will act as a mentor to five MADE designers as they create chic style carrying cases for the Marquee. Interesting marketing, but odd at the same time. What do you all think about that one? You can check out the full press release via the source link.
Last week a video from Radio Shack, meant to show off the white HTC Evo 3D, also gave us a glimpse of a unheard of device, the LG Marquee. At the time, the Marquee looked strikingly similar to the LG Optimus Black, a phone leaked months ago. Thanks to Sprint Cellebrite data, we can confirm that the the LG Marquee is the LG Optimus Black. We’ve known for quite some time that the Black was model LS-855 and now the master list of Sprint phones has been updated to reflect that model number as the Marquee.
No word yet on when it will actually be available.
There have been rumors going around that the LG Optimus Black would be coming to Sprint. TalkAndroid’s inside sources at Sprint have officially confirmed that the LG Optimus Black will arrive on Sprint sometime in the near future. A once sought after super phone, its longevity seems to be in question now that it is being released with Froyo this late in the game (when it was announced in January that wasn’t as big of a deal, now it is). The phone definitely has some “super” specs to it, but the question of buying a phone with only Froyo now rather than looking one phone to the right for an equally beefy, Gingerbread phone remains. Regardless of your opinion on it, the LG Optimus Black is coming to Sprint, a carrier that is usually shunned for its lack of phone options. Welcome to the new era of Sprint my friends.
How would you like to get the LG Optimus Black for free? Later this month you will be able to with a new contract at T-Mobile UK. CoolSmartphone is reporting that they will be asking for a 2 year contract with a cost of at least 25.54 GBP per month. If you do not want to sign a contract you can get one for 399 GBP (463 EUR) from Expansys, but won’t be available till April.
LG recently announced that the Optimus Black would cost 768 SGD in Singapore (about $607 or 432 EUR). They also said the Optimus 2X would cost 888 SGD ($700 of 500 EUR). The Optimus 2X sports a dual core Tegra 2 powered processor which is the reason for the price difference.
