If you’re an AT&T customer and looking for a new Android smartphone that sports a really good camera, then you will be happy to know that the Samsung Galaxy S 4 Zoom is coming to the carrier soon. Unfortunately we don’t have an idea as to when, but the leaked image confirms that it’s AT&T bound.
The Galaxy S 4 Zoom will be pitted against the Lumia 1020, which might have the best camera of any smartphone. The only problem with the Lumia 1020 is that it’s a Windows Phone.
We will keep you posted as soon as we hear when it will be released.
Samsung’s Galaxy S 4 Zoom is one heck of a sweet cameraphone, but there have been more than a few of you out there who have expressed major discontent for a lack of an LTE version. Fortunately, you can finally stop your bellyaching as Samsung has gone ahead and unleashed a new variant carrying a 4G chip built-in, allowing those of you out there to go ahead and use the device on your network of choice. As of now, Samsung has confirmed the new camera will operate on Deutsche Telekom, Tele2, Telia Sonera and Orange networks, though it wouldn’t be too much of a surprise if we saw additional networks added at a future date. Of course it doesn’t have an interchangeable lens like other cameras out there, but hey— at least some you out there can finally go ahead and upload those high-res photos to your social network of choice without having to wait forever.
There’s no word on exact pricing for the Galaxy S 4 Zoom LTE just yet, but we expect to see all that sooner than later.
Once Samsung announced their Galaxy S 4 Zoom earlier this month, questions immediately arose of when and for how much it would be available. It looks like a UK release could be coming very soon. UK retailer Clove has begun to take pre-orders for the S4 Zoom, with shipments going out beginning July 8. The price for the camera-based phone is currently £369, which is about $561.40 in the US. We don’t yet have a US release date yet, but hopefully it will be soon.
As a reminder, the S4 Zoom has a 4.3-inch qHD (960 x 540) Super AMOLED display, with a pixel density of 256 PPI, a 1.5 Ghz dual-core processor, 1.5 GB of RAM, Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with TouchWi, 8GB of internal storage with a microSD slot for expandability (up to 64GB), and a 2330 mAh battery. Camera features include a 16-megapixel camera with 10x Optical Zoom and an Xenon Flash on the back, and a 1.9-megapixel camera on the front of the device.

Samsung has released a three minute clip demoing their newly announced Galaxy S 4 Zoom, and in traditional Samsung marketing fashion, the video highlights how an average person would use all the
gimmicky features on a day to day basis. The video follows a smiling woman around who makes a phone call on her digital camera, uses the optical zoom on the camera, shares photos, etc. It’s nothing really new compared to what we already know, but this is Samsung’s way of wrapping up all of the Zoom’s features in a small package.
Hit the break below to check out the video, and let us know in the comments what you think. Niche product or next big thing?
The Galaxy S 4 Zoom is set to launch at Samsung’s event in London on June 20 and a photo of the device recently appeared, seen above. The new phone packs a 4.3-inch qHD sAMOLED display, a 1.6GHz dual-core processor, a 16MP camera sensor with optical zoom, 8GB of internal memory (expandable via microSD up to 64GB), Bluetooth 4.0 LE Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, and A-GPS. The Zoom runs on Samsung’s Touch-Wiz Nature UX interface and ships with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
As Samsung continues its march to produce a Galaxy S 4 model targeted at virtually every type of consumer, we continue to try to identify specifics for all of the models slated to hit the market. Our latest bit of information comes from a leaked UAProf file that was discovered on the Samsung domain. The file indicates it is for an SM-C101, which we have confirmed is the Samsung Galaxy S 4 Zoom. We see in the UAProf that the device will have an ARM11 processor and it also confirms the device will have a screen resolution of 960×540 as we reported earlier.
The Galaxy S 4 Zoom appears to distinguish itself from other models by packing in a 16MP camera capable of 10X digital zoom. Some have described the device as more of a camera phone than a smart phone.
While Samsung hasn’t officially announced the multiple rumored variants of its recent Galaxy S 4 flagship, it is likely they will launch as soon as next month. The most recent leak is apparently the first photo from its cameraphone variant, the SM-C101, also known as the Galaxy S 4 Zoom, which was recently spotted in Bluetooth SIG. The phone will prominently feature a 16-megapixel camera with a massive 10x optical zoom.
There is still no word on what this device will pack internally, but some have speculated that it will be similar to the recently leaked Galaxy S 4 Mini so as not to hurt the S 4′s sales. The S 4 Zoom will join the S 4 Mini, S 4 Mega and the water and dust-proof S 4 Activ with release dates this summer.
Earlier in the week the Samsung Galaxy S 4 Zoom was revealed to be a smartphone that will be all about the camera. The specs of the device will be more like the S 4 Mini, but the camera will be better than the Galaxy S 4 based on the fact that it will be 16-megapixels. What about optical zoom? That’s something we have all been dying for in a smartphone. Turns out the Galaxy S 4 Zoom will sport a 10x optical zoom according to Russian analyst Dmitry Ryabinin. It’s not up there with the 21x zoom that was in the Galaxy Camera, but this one is going to be an actual smartphone.
The S4 Zoom is rumored to be released in mid-June and further evidence supporting that is the fact that it appeared at Bluetooth SIG already. We could see an announcement in the next couple of weeks.

Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S 4 is expected to be released in a range of different models internationally. We brought news that the Galaxy Mega was officially announced by Samsung last month, while the Mini, Zoom, and Activ are expected to be announced by Samsung by the end of this month. Tentative release dates have been leaked for these phones.
Black and white versions of the Galaxy S 4 Mini, which as its name suggests is a smaller version of the Galaxy S 4, is expected to be released in Week 29 of this year, which falls between July 15 and July 21.
The Galaxy Mega features a larger display for the budget-minded consumer, and will come in variants of 6.3- inches and 5.8- inches. It’s expected to be released in Europe and Russia between now and June 23. The black 6.3 inch version should come this week, followed by the white 5.8 inch version next week. The white 6.3 inch Mega will come the week of May 20, and the black 5.8 inch version will arrive the week of June 17.
I am not sure where the name “cameraphone” comes from, but if it’s a smartphone with a camera, isn’t it still a smartphone? Well SamMobile received some information regarding the Galaxy S4 Zoom, and they are calling it a camera phone, which doesn’t make sense. The bottomline is this is a smartphone that has a 16MP camera, a 4.3-inch qHD (960 x 540) Super AMOLED display, 8GB of storage, microSD slot for extra storage, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, A-GPS and Jelly Bean. No word on the processor or RAM, but don’t expect anything earth shattering.
It’s codename is SM-C1010, which means it might not be the same device that we reported last week. It’s expected to launch in June or July in both black and white, but I doubt we will see it till the later summer or after IFA 2013. We will certainly let you know more as soon as we find out.
