The Galaxy Axiom, US Cellular’s branded version of the Galaxy S III Mini, is beginning to see an OTA update to Android 4.1, complete with Project Butter enhancements and Google Now. You’ll need to be connected to WiFi for the update, and then check for updates in your phone’s About Device settings menu.
This is the second Jelly Bean update we’ve seen to Samsung devices today, so Samsung’s starting off April on a high note. Any Axiom owners that have gotten the update? Let us know in the comments.

Not too long ago we heard rumors of the Galaxy S III Mini hitting US Cellular as the Galaxy Axiom. If you were holding out for this phone, you’re in luck, as the Axiom is now available on US Cellular for an attractive $0.01 on a new contract or upgrade. The specs are in line with the rumors: 4 inch WVGA screen, 1.2 ghz dual-core processor, 5 megapixel camera, 1.3 megapixel front-camera, and ICS running TouchWiz on top. It also features 4G LTE radios, but only if you live in a supported US Cellular market. It also has Google Wallet out of the box, which is rare.
If you don’t want to spend much on a smartphone but want a small piece of Samsung’s flagship brand, the Axiom is a great choice.

Samsung seems to be taking over the world (or galaxy?) with yet another smartphone set to be released, this time on US Cellular. The phone leaked by @evleaks is reportedly called the Galaxy Axiom, which is basically a renamed variant of the Galaxy S III Mini, sporting the same 4-inch WVGA (800 x 480) LCD display, a dual-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm MSM8960 processor, 1 GB of RAM and a measly 4 gigabytes of onboard storage. This phone will take advantage of US Cellular’s growing LTE network and will run Android 4.0 with Samsung’s Nature UX skin on top (you aren’t surprised are you?). As for cameras, it will have a 5 megapixel shooter on the back with a front-facing 1.2 megapixel camera for some fairly decent video-chatting capabilities. All in all, not a bad little offering from Samsung for US Cellular subscribers. If the price is right, this thing could be a hit!
Anyone out there interested in picking this little guy up?
