Who doesn’t love a good, easy way to tether? We do, and we’re pretty sure you do, too. Well, lucky for all of us, the good folks over at Tether have released the Android version of their popular tethering app for Blackberry, and it works great. I personally find myself using it constantly on my HTC Evo 4G, and you couldn’t get me to do it any other way.

We love it so much, in fact, that we’ve teamed up with the Tether team to bring you a contest where you can win a copy of Tether absolutely free! The app is always free on the Market, but requires a license code for the full version. So, over the next week, we will be running a contest where 15 lucky readers will get a copy of this great app. Hit the break for the rules, and be sure to let us know what you think in the comments below!

Verizon to offer the LG Vortex free with new 2-year contract

by Tyler Cunningham on
tagged , , , ,

It appears as if Verizon’s upcoming LG Vortex is going to be offered free of charge, well, as long as you buy into a new 2-year contract that is. Ok, so it’s not EXACTLY free. You still have to shell out $100 up  front, but you’ll receive a $100 mail-in rebate debit card in exchange for your cold hard cash (or plastic) up front.

This certainly isn’t a shabby free device if you need to renew your contract, but don’t want to spend anything extra. Having Android 2.2 pre-installed is also a pretty sweet element here. The one downside here is the Bingified default search engine, but if you can live with it, The LG Vortex can be yours for the whopping price of $0.

Review: Trillian For Android

by Chris Moor on
tagged , , , , , , , , , , , ,

The stock instant messenger that comes with most builds of android is great – it does exactly what it’s intended for and does it well, albeit with very few frills. There have been a few little gripes I’ve had with it, like troubles transmitting photos, and having to switch back and forth to the main screen to chat to more than one person.

Review: Make Twitter Beautiful With Touiteur for Android

by Chris Moor on
tagged , , , , , , , , , ,

Back in 2006 Jack Dorsey created the monster that is now known as Twitter (It was originally just “twttr”), and the site has since grown exponentially to the point where as of June 2010 around 65 million tweets are posted every day. Due to Twitter’s popularity and openness with their API, a slew of applications are available for every format you can possibly think of… but of course we only care about one. Now like every other tech-orientated geek I’ve tried most, if not all twitter apps available on the Android Market. Fortunately as I also have one of the shortest attention-spans known to man, I’m continuously on the lookout for the next best Twitter application… however I always seem to get drawn back to one in particular: Touiteur. » Read the rest
