Toshiba just announced three new tablets that will be available in May and June. Last year Toshiba marketed their tablets under the Thrive name and offered both 10-inch and 7-inch models. For 2012, all tablets will be under the Excite name. We’ve already seen the super thin Excite 10 LE released a little over a month ago, but that was just the tip of the iceberg. Toshiba just unveiled the Excite 7.7 (AT175), Excite 10 (AT305), and the Excite 13 (AT335). All three tabs will come with a NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor, 1GB of RAM, 5MP rear camera, 2MP front facing camera, and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It should also be noted that these will be primarily stock ICS devices with the exception of a file manager app and media player. Toshiba feels that users want stock and they are going to give it to them.
The Excite 13 (pictured above) comes with a 13.3-inch (1600 x 900) AutoBrite Backlit LED display, and yes, this is the same tablet we showed you a couple of weeks ago. It will also have a four speaker sound system, full size SD card slot, micro USB, micro HDMI, and 13 hours of battery life. It will be a little over 10mm thick and weigh about 2.2 pounds or 997 grams. This tablet is going to be great for presentations and sharing so Toshiba is including a stand (not attached) to go along with it. If you’re wondering about the TV tuner that was shown in the video from last month, it won’t be available in the U.S., but Toshiba does plan on offering it in certain markets. The Excite 13 will be available at the beginning of June and priced at $649.99 for the 32GB model and $749.99 for the 64GB model.
