Earlier this month we reported on the pending release of the HTC DLX to global markets. The HTC DLX is virtually a mirror image of the HTC DROID DNA recently released in the U.S. market. The device is almost certainly heading to Asian markets. When we reported on a possible name change to market the device as an HTC Deluxe, we wondered whether the device would hit European markets. Unfortunately, the answer to that question appears to be “no.”
According to a Facebook posting by HTC’s German account, the device is not coming to European markets. The post was made in response to another Facebook user who was inquiring about some images that had surfaced. This turn of events is some bad news for European buyers as we have found the DROID DNA to be an extremely capable device and would expect the HTC DLX to match its performance.

HTC’s yet to be released Deluxe DLX superphone (the international brother to Verizon’s new Droid DNA) spent some good time in front of the camera recently. These newer photos reveal that the 5-inch HD device will come in three color variations: white, black, and brown.
The specs on the Deluxe DLX are expected to be identical to the Droid DNA, including a true HD 5-inch (1920 x 1080) Super LCD 3 display at 440ppi, a 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU, 2GB of RAM, an 8MP rear camera with ImageSense, 2.1MP front facing camera with an 88 degree wide angle lens, 16GB of internal storage, 2020mAh battery, NFC, worldwide GSM capability, and Beats Audio.
The price and release date are still unknown, but the source of the images stated that we should expect more information on December 6th. With the holidays around the corner this could make the perfect gift for tech enthusiasts everywhere. Hit the break for more images.
A month or so ago it seemed the HTC J Butterfly was going to be a very limited device, but it’s just too good to limit this bad boy. I finally got my hands on the DROID DNA, which is essentially the same phone, and I must tell you that this might just be the finest phone ever made. We also heard that it will be known as the DLX in other Asian markets, and now it seems as though it will actually be called the Deluxe globally at least according to @evleaks. I know that many of you in Europe were wondering if it was every going to arrive, and it looks like it will. Unfortunately we don’t have a time frame, but we are hopeful it will happen by year’s end. This is just too good of a phone to not share the love everywhere.
