Motorola’s Cyber Monday didn’t work. After hyping the Moto X at a $150 discount off-contract, Motorola’s website crashed due to too much incoming traffic. After repeated delays throughout the day, Motorola decided to completely delay the entire promotion to Wednesday, and again next Monday. At 12 ET on Wednesday, and again on Monday, Moto Maker will go live to offer the discounted Moto X to lucky customers for just $349 off-contract.
Cyber Monday, the biggest online shopping day of the year, is finally here— eBay has a ton of great offers on its site, and the Nexus 7 sale certainly doesn’t fall short.

Qualcomm announced today that they will start selling their Toq (pronounced “talk”) smartwatch on December 2nd aka Cyber Monday. The device will sell for $349.99 and at least initially, will only be sold directly by Qualcomm from their web site. The Toq features a Mirasol low power display that supposedly will be capable of running for several days between charges despite being in an “always on” state. The device can be paired with an Android device running at least Android 4.0.3, although Qualcomm indicates 4.3 Jelly Bean is preferred. The Toq will come loaded with weather and stock apps from AccuWeather and E*TRADE respectively to go along with the apps providing the ability to accept/reject calls, view text messages, get meeting alerts and receive other notifications.
If you want to get on the mailing list to be notified by Qualcomm of other updates about the devices and to be one of the first to know when it is available for order, head over to toq.qualcomm.com to sign up. You can hit the break to read the full press release from Qualcomm.
According to Twitter’s @evleaks, Verizon plans on kicking off the holiday season with some modest deals. For Cyber Monday, online shopping’s Black Friday, Verizon will take $150 off of Samsung tablets. It’s unclear whether this apply to the on-contract or off-contract prices. Also from Samsung will be the Galaxy Note II for $50 on-contract. More intriguingly is that the Motorola RAZR HD and Samsung Galaxy S III (from last year) will be just $1 dollar. Perhaps Verizon is trying to clean out stock on those devices? If you are a deal-stealer, this batch is certainly worth a look. But with the Moto X dropping to $99 and set to get Moto Maker treatment, we’re not sure why you would look at something else. This year, Cyber Monday is on December 2, so make note of that on your calendar.
