It looks like LG is coming in a little later than expected (or stated) when it comes to releasing the LG Optimus 2X in Europe. We heard from LG it was going to be in January, but now we can see it’ll be sometime “this month”. Good things come to those who wait I guess is the most appropriate saying to throw in right about now.
The Optimus 2X will ship with Android 2.2, but will be updated to Gingerbread as soon as they can make it available, which is a promise from LG. The current pricing found in Germany for the LG Optimus Speed is around €500 and should be similarly priced at launch in other European markets.

The LG Optimus X, one of the most anticipated devices to hit the market and the very first device to sport Nvidia’s Tegra 2 dual core processor gets the hands on treatment. I love saying that, dual core, it just rolls off the tongue. That’s an insane amount of processing power and we highly look forward to the release of this powerhouse of a smartphone. For now, a juicy hands on by our good friends over at Android Central will have to suffice. Hit the break and check out their excellent preview of the device, along with an abundance of pics and video. A word of caution however, excessive amounts of salivation are sure to follow. Enjoy, and as always, let us know what you think of the device in the comments below. Read more
BGR has some great pictures from the LG event last night, getting some shots and talking a bit about both the Optimus Black and the Optimus 2X. They said that while both devices were very snappy and reponsive, the Optimus 2X with it’s dual-core Tegra-2, predictably, absolutely flies along. The display was kicked out to a 42″ TV via HDMI, and that video and game performance were remarkable. While the Optimus Black couldn’t quite keep pace in the performance area, they commented on how super thin and sleek it was, being “all about aesthetics,” and noted that the 2 megapixel front-facing camera is really making nice strides in video chat.
Both devices were running Froyo on display, but are expected to actually ship with Gingerbread. Hit the source link for all the pictures, and let us know what you think about LG’s new offerings.
