Quick Look At Amazon’s Free App Of The Day: Documents To Go Full Version Key

by Spencer McClendon

Alright folks, I’m not going to keep you long on this review, because if I did, it would be a rant and not a review. This is probably the worst version of a “Word” app for Android. It is OK for a quick need to type something up, but the UI is below my standards of how it should look and feel. The options it gives to make your document are sub-par, and it can’t even read .docx files. I mean come on really? Even QuickOffice and Office Suite are able to open .docx files. Look I’m in college and I write almost all my papers ( In .docx) on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. I use Office Suite Pro 5, which is ten times better then Documents To Go.

Now I know what your saying I can’t afford to buy one of these titles, so I should just go ahead and get it while it is free. If your poor (like me) then, yes, by all means go ahead and pick it up while it is free. You can’t ever go wrong with something that is free. However within a few hours you will notice what I am talking about, and be glad you didn’t pay for it. Continue on past the break for the link and screenshots.

I like all my editing options right in my face, so to speak. I don’t want to have to press the menu button, search for the option I need, and  hope the change I made is what I actually wanted, if  not  then I have to repeat the process until I do. I haven’t included any screenshots in the post, just because it is that sad of an app for me. If you really want to see them, check out the Amazon link towards the bottom of my post.

I don’t really mean to bash this product, (OK maybe a little), but I know there are better products out there. Worth the money over free any day.  That should speak volumes to you. If you have the money, then I encourage you to try anyone of the other two apps I have mentioned, instead of trying this waste of memory on your device. This will defiantly be an uninstall for me and I won’t question it one bit. Check out Amazon if you really want to try it. If you don’t have Amazon’s App Store, check out our Quick Tips Page to see how to get it on your device.

Well it seems if I got to rant after all. Tell us your rants or raves in the comments section.

Update: While on my Rant/Review I forgot to mention that this is just the full version key. You still have to download the free version as well, this just unlocks all the premium features in the free version.

Update 2: So a friend of mine called me up crying, about how I had lied that Document To Go doesn’t read .docx files. So I took him at his word and re-installed it and found out that you can change the settings to make it read and create .docx files. However, it will not read any .docx files you have created with Office Suite or QuickOffice. I had to create a document one my PC using Microsoft Word and then email it to myself to verify his claim. So I do apologize for my lapse in complete follow through, but I still stand by initial review!
