PowerAMP Music Player: Mini Review

There is certainly no shortage of music players for Android, each with their own advantages and disadvantages. In addition to the default Android music player, there’s DoubleTwist, WinAmp, Vanilla Music Player, and the list goes on. I’ve never quite been satisfied with any Android music player, until now that is.

PowerAMP Music Player for Android is the first music app that hasn’t made me immediately go looking for something new to try. It is stylish, easy to use, and offers a great equalizer with tons of great preset options.  The layout is very crisp, and just makes sense to use. For example, when a song is playing, pressing the area containing the artist name and title brings you back to the previous menu you were on.

As previously mentioned, PowerAMP Music Player features a robust equalizer, with the ability to adjust your own settings, or choose from a variety of standard presents such as Rock, Dance, and Classical.

Now, no app is perfect, and PowerAMP is no exception. An option to access podcasts, like on DoubleTwist, would have made this a total music solution for me. Perhaps they will work that into future versions of the application, but for now it’s about the only thing holding me back from using this full time. However, with its sleek design, awesome EQ options, and ease of navigation, I feel comfortable calling this one of the, if not the, best music app for Android right now.

It’s not a bad player. I still need a player that can properly sync to windows media player (especially syncing of music star ratings). It can’t be that hard! :(

Love it! For some reason, the stock player would not put my CD’s in track-order, but this actually does! Success!

Just like Vicky says. For some odd reason the stock player and even winamp and others order the musics in a strange way.

It’s me or no one can create a playlist? I didn’t found this on winamp and on the stock player.

Poweramp correctly order the musics inside the folders and allow me to create/modify a playlist by selecting the musics or folders and clicking on “add to playlist”

For me, this is the best Mp3 player.

This is fooooking superb. Its managed to make the stock headphones on my samsung galaxy s sound superb. My sennheisers just broke and i was looking to buy new headphones. Got side tracked by this app after first trying doubletwist. There is an eq and a pre eq and the sound is very nice. Throw in the fact it plays flac, downloads album art and just seems more configurable than other players.i am a very happy camper and will be purchasing .
