It goes without saying, the Galaxy Note 7 from Samsung is an expensive investment. Coming in at a whopping $850, it can be nerve-wracking taking it in certain environments. Thankfully, there are plenty of cases out there that can ease that nervous energy by keeping your Galaxy Note 7 fully protected.

Not sure what case to get? Be sure to follow along, and we’ll show you our favorites.

CandyShell Clear

If you’re looking for some protection without hiding the elegance of the Galaxy Note 7, Speck’s CandyShell Clear case is just that. Featuring military-grade protection and lab-tested durability results, the CanyShell Clear will absorb shock from all of those occasional drops.

One of the big problems with “Clear” cases is that they, sometimes, will turn a shade of yellow after a period of use. But, Speck says that their Clear case doesn’t do this thanks to two-layers of clear material that are resistant to UV yellowing.

The CandyShell Clear only comes in a standard Clear color, but the company does offer some separate Clear cases with glitter. These are a tad bit more expensive, but come in a sort of pink with, well, glitter all over it. A gold option with glitter will be arriving soon, but there isn’t a set release date for that yet.

CandyShell Grip

The CanyShell Grip is the only other case Speck offers for the Galaxy Note 7, but it’s easily the best option if you had to choose between it and the CandyShell Clear. The CandyShell Grip offers much of the same protection as the Clear, but features raised rubber ridges to give you a good grip on the phone. As it stands, the Galaxy Note 7 is slippery because of it’s glass design, so for those looking for a bit more of a grip, the CandyShell Grip is the perfect choice.

It comes in a wide variety of colors. There’s a plain black options available, but there are some other neat designs, such as a white and black combo, a pink and light blue combo and finally, a dark blue and light blue combo.

With dual-layer military-grade protection, the Neo Hybrid can absorb shock from drops and other accidents. The actual case has a spider-web pattern, giving you a firm grip similar to that of the CandyShell Grip.

The case comes in Gunmetal, Blue Coral, Champagne Gold and Satin Silver colors.

If you’re looking for maximum protection and don’t mind hiding the Galaxy Note 7’s premium design, Spigen’s Tough Armor case will make sure your device is protected in every way. It doesn’t offer three-layer protection like you might find with, say, an Otterbox, but with a flexible cover and hard polycarbonate shell, your Galaxy Note 7 is guaranteed to withstand most drops and accidents. As an added bonus, the case has a built-in kickstand for hands-free viewing.

The Tough Armor case comes in Gunmetal, Champagne Gold and Blue Coral.

Maybe you’re looking for something elegant, sophisticated and classy. Caseology’s Envoy series is the perfect blend between the three. With a soft leather shell and a soft-coated polycarbonate bumper, not only do you get stellar protection, but elegance as well.

The Envoy series has a lot of different styles and options for your Galaxy Note 7, but some of their most notable combinations are the Leather Cherry Oak and Carbon Fiber Black.

Caseology Parallax

Caseology’s Parallax series is a lot different than the Envoy series. Many of the Parallax cases are elegant in their own way with warmer colors, but focus on giving the user more grip. Caseology says that its “three-dimensional molding and soft coatings create a secure, comfortable grip for Galaxy Note 7.” If you thought the phone was a little too slippery in the first place and aren’t liking other options that focus on grip, the Parallax series is the way to go.

It comes in Turquoise Mint, Pink, Black, a Black/Gold combination, and Navy Blue.

Otterbox Defender

Last up on our list is the Otterbox Defender. If you’ve been searching for the ultimate rugged protection for almost any environment, the Defender’s three-layer protective architecture might be right up your alley. The first layer is a synthetic rubber slipcover, the second a tough (and thick) polycarbonate shell, with the third layer being a screen protector. Paired together, these three layers keep your Galaxy Note 7 completely encased and protected, guaranteeing its safety in even the most brutal of accidents.

Color options include Black, Berries N Cream and Steel Berry.

The worst thing about this phone is having to hide its amazing design inside a case. I haven’t had the heart to do it yet, but I know that leaves me open to an $850 mistake… ouch.

Too darn slippery. Plus can’t get phone to work yet. Operator error. Dumb blonde me.
