Unreliable data connection

I have a new HTC Wildfire with Android 2.1. Many times I loose the data connection on my phone. As many apps are dependent of that the user experience is not good.

If I go and check in preferences the mobile internet is turned on.
Sometimes it works again if I turn off the connection in preferences and turn it on again. Is there any preference somewhere I can change ?
ANy hints?

PS. My old phone a HTC Cruise had much more reliable data connection. But Windows Mobile as OS was of course worse to use DS.

Hello Roland,

I have very good experience with HTC wildfire. We have been using it since it was launch but we have never face any problem using it. The screen of wildfire is somewhat smaller in height which makes many app look weird.

). Our own developed app doesnt look proper in wildfire but we fine in Desire.
