Hi everyone,
Just a quick bit of info, has anyone noticed how bad the battery life is on this phone? I have only had my G1 for 2 days and if I use the internet regularly on it I would be lucky if it lasts me 12 hour standby!

Yea. I had the same problem. I now let my battery run down to absolutely nothing and then charge it up 2 hours or more beyond the point of 100%. Even though it says 100%, it is really not actually 100%. My battery lasts a full day now.

Also, make sure your charger has 1 Amp of output (Like the one that came with your G1). If you are using a different charger (say for a Razr), some of those chargers only have 0.5 Amps of output. At first I used some of my other charges to charge the G1. It works, but now I just use the 1 Amp charger. Good Luck.

3G is a serious battery drainer ~ same as the iPhone. when turned off there is a considerable improvement in battery life. not something you want to have toworry about but it helps.

I Would Love To Know If They Are Planning On Having A Better Battery Like Extended Life One, No Sense Having A Great Phone And Have To Charge It More Than You Use It, Not Very Mobile.

My battery certainly isn't the best performance wise compared to other phones, however it does appear to be getting better and I haven't received an update as yet.

My battery tends to be either full, 3/4's or barely registering.

Having said that though i find it to be around the same battery life as my old Nokia N95. Nothing to really fall out with it over though.

I noticed something on my G1 yesterday that made me think. The phone itself is a 5vdc and the battery is 3.7vdc. That is why the battery life is so short. the phone is pulling 5 volts while the battery is only holding 3.7.
