go into your bookmarks, long press on the one you want to delete, scroll down to the bottom of the list that pops up and there you will see delete bookmark.

I have tried over and over again, but the delete button disappears instantly on my hero, and if I use 2 fingers, it deletes the widget.

select the bookmark you want to delete and twist your finger a bit. Then a window will popup and allow you to delete the bookmark.

The whole window gets selected, and that deletes all the bookmarks.
If I go into manage bookmarks, I can do it then.

On mine, if you hold down the individual bookmark for a long time then the entire window is selected. If you touch the individual bookmark and twist your finger a window pops up with a bunch of options.

I just found it, but maybe this is too late. Go to your bookmarks. Press on one to bring it up. Hit MENU. A screen will come up with the option of BOOKMARKS. Press that. Scroll to the one you want to delete, hit MENU again, and choose DELETE. This works on my Hero.

Worked on my phone. I originally tried by long-pressing the bookmark from the list view when you press the bookmark icon next to the address bar and it did not work. Then I tried hitting the "menu" key and followed that to bookmarks and it worked first try.
