Htc desire email issues

hi everyone

i have just bought the the HTC Desire HD phone when i try to send an email from my microsoft exchange email it appears in the outbox then disappears, however it doesnt go to sent items nor does the receipient receive it.
if i put the same account details in my old iphone it works fine.

if anyone could help i would be very grateful

Hi, I've had my htc desire just over a week, love it, but i have tried all your suggestions but cannot send emails. set up everything correct, receive them fine, but just wont send. like many, ive had probs with the errror msg on the outgoing server, ive chopped and changed this and that, some things it just wont let me change, but been at this for 2 hours, its really annoying now! can anyone help out with a new suggestion please!!!
