According to T-mo's 3G service information they could be enforcing a 1GB/month download cap for the G1.
Quote:
If your total data usage in any billing cycle is more than 1GB, your data throughput for the remainder of that cycle may be reduced to 50 kbps or less.
Could be an issue for heavy users, along with the G1 bragging about it's app store and excellent web browsing.

It seems T-mobile are currently re-writing the data plan ToS.

Whilst i can understand why many have jumped on the bandwagon, i think most would be hard pushed to break the 1GB.. well i certainly would.

I do not like the fact of this at all since I am paying for "Unlimited Data."

hey, i'm getting a g1 in a week, and i'll be going with t mobile uk. it says that the internet has like a 1gb fair usage, but they don't charge you if you go over. is that true?
and how much internet usage, roughly, is 1gb?

Chris, caps are there to discourage abuse, more than likely someone would have to reach that cap and or go over several months in a row before T-Mobile would exercise any penalties. Someone going over that much is probably tethering, which is against the T-Mo TOS.
