Vodafone UK Offers customers Free SMS Tweets

Vodafone UK have signed a deal with Twitter to offer their customers free SMS tweets from their mobiles at no extra cost.

The SMS tweets that are sent and received will be part of the normal texting budle - and apparently for the first few weeks wont even affect the bundle.

With apps like Twitdroid i'm not sure this'll be such a useful addition to HTC Magic owners, but i guess it is still a nice gesture.

I don't want to pre-judge Vodafone but they are not historically well known for being too liberal with their data policies. Maybe this is why they're trying to exploit SMS for Twitter. Which is odd when the data connection is just begging to be used by any well behaved Twitter app.

Oh well, May will bear the truth for us all no doubt.
