I just switched from a Blackberry to a Samsung Fascinate. I am in LOVE with the Fascinate. There are so many features that I didn't have on the BB.

I am also really new to this forum (came from crackberry.com).

I still have a lot to learn, but so far I am loving the Android OS

Hello,
I am also new to Android, having switched from Blackberry myself. I have the Samsung Intercept with the 2.1 platform. I am disappointed that 2.1 does not support flash. I also cannot connect my phone via USB. The drivers I downloaded from the Samsung site don't appear to work. Other than that I love all the apps available. I am still getting used to using a touch screen but it is getting easier.

I am also new to anrdroid! Just picked up the samsung galaxy S II for at&t, love it. Battery dies a little fast, but I was told I just have to "learn" the phone. Working on it!

First off, welcome to the Droid Side.
Now being a fact that there will be a learning curve to Droids coming from BB (which are great phones don't get me wrong).
Droids are not for everyone but also glad to hear that you guys are so far happy with them, (though at times they can be infuriating)
Still its fairly user friendly so you will have no problem getting used to the new environment.
If you guys have 2.1 or previous versions you should in theory be able to update your program to a newer OS version.
But lets deal with the USB first. Since there was a question from some time ago that had not yet been addressed.
Am not 100% familiar with your phone specifically but most should be fairly similar.
From your home screen press
-->Applications-- from there go to -->Settings -- from there go to -->Applications -- from there choose -->USB settings. Once here it depends on your preference but for arguments sake press -->Ask on Connection. (that way whenever you plug in your USB it will pop that up and you can choose to use it as -Kies > Media Player > or > Mass Storage.
It depends on what you want your phone to behave like when its USB connected)
Regardless once its on <Ask on Connection> next time you plug it it will give you the options to open or use as.
From there as long as you have the newest version of KIES on your computer you should be able to update to a newer version of the OS.
Hope that helps.

Hello everyone, I am also new to Android as this is the very first Android phone I have ever had (The Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-9100 running 2.3.5 Gingerbread), is there any way I can update it to Android 4.0 ICS? Or am I stuck on Gingerbread because of hardware limitations? Hope to hear back soon, I'm liking this forum, favourite added!

new question from new user. just picked up a galaxy nexus. played with it for a while, got on the web. almost all was fine (except, i can't find info on how to reset the time).

now. i push the 'on' button, up flashes a view of the clock and a circle with a lock. nothing i do gets me past this....except receiving an email and then i'm back in.

best of all, samsung has provided no instruction book past the font size 4 book that shows how to turn the unit on.

help.
