I bought a Samsung Momento yesterday and have been trying to get it connected over USB. In '/etc/udev/rules.d/51-android.rules':

Code:
SUBSYSTEM=="usb_device", SYSFS{idVendor}=="04e8", MODE="0666"
And restarted udev with "/etc/init.d/udev restart". Running dmesg doesn't show any device connected, and 'adb devices' lists nothing.

Kernel is version 2.6.27, udev version 141.

The answer, for anybody else who happens across this, is that the USB cable that comes with the Momento seems to be only good for charging--not data. A proper USB cable worked just fine.

I can get my USB cable that came with the Moment to work, but not all the time. However, if is restart the phone, it seems to always connect.

Here is a fix that I picked up somewhere for this issue... It worked for me, maybe it will for you as well.

Select Menu...
Then scroll down to Applications...
Select Development...
Then select 'USB debugging' (make sure that it is checked)

I had this same problem and selecting this option cured my problem.

Hope this helps some folks.

same problem here: intermittant USB connection with OEM cable. USB debugging did not work for mine. Powering off and on did not either. Windows notifies me that it "found new hardware" everytime. but can't get anyfurther than that. USB connection doesn't come up on phone screen at all.
Thanks though.
