hi i have a brand-new Sansung Galaxy Apollo i5800 (UK) but it won't play any AVI & MKV files for some reason. i have checked the files can play on my PC and my Digital Freeview box and have used the Samsung Kies software in uploading them but doesn't seem to work.

is it a factory defect? what shall i do?

advice please....

Samsung kies software is a dump!! It converts videos to 1280 x 720 pixels which the phone doesn't support. Use some other video converters!

I think it not support AVI & MKV format, try MP4 format videos can play well on the Sansung Galaxy Apollo i5800, if it can play well, I think you can convert your avi & mkv files to mp4.
