Usb problem please help?

Hello,

I got my new samsung galaxy a few days ago but...
When i want to put music on it and i put USB in the computer it says:

The driver is not installed.
And whatever i do i cant get it good.
I searched alot on google downloaded alot but nothing works.
Can somone please help me?

You need to install the Kies application from the Samsung website - it sucks but has the drivers. Then when you connect the phone you need to have debugging turned on in the Apps section of settings. Finally once plugged in you should get a notification in the notification area which you can pull down and activate the connection. Not exactly painless but it works eventually.

Got the same problem, and i already installed the Kies. but the thing is it only detects the external memory card not but not the phone,please help me...

Lex, What happens when you plug in the Android?
Do you get the notifications at the top of the screen?
I get two notification icons when I connect.
To copy music I have to open the notiofivcations panel
and select the one that says "USB Connected".
After that Kies works.

What does your
Settings->Applications->Development screen
say?

have you downloaded Kies application already?
what did it say?
and are you sure your USB cable or usb connector is alright?

I'll give you a step by step guide.

1) Download and install the latest version of Kies from http://samsungmobile.com/

2) On your phone go to Setting>Applications>Development.

3) Check the USB Debugging option. Go back to the home screen.

4) Plug in your phone via the provided USB cable and select Kies on the box that pops up on the phone and tap OK.

5) After your phone drivers have been installed by Kies*, drop down the notification bar on the phone.

6) Select USB connected button and tap on Mount in teh pop up screen that appears.

7) Now you have mounted the SD card and you are ready to go.

*If Kies doesn't install the drivers automatically, you will have to do it manually.
If you are running Windows XP on your PC, go to Control Panel and open System and select the Hardware tab and open Device Manager.
Then right click any hardware device with a yellow warning and click Update Driver and then select the 'Install the software automatically' radio button and click next. Click Finish when done.

Having same problem ,,trying to do the update and finally phoned inot samsung and they said that kies was having problem and they are working on it,, end of this week they said.

do you have the Pc suite for this mobile...
try getting pc suits...i think it will work
