Samsung Galaxy I7500 Android 2.0 Update

Hello there,
Does anyone knows why samsung wont launch any SO update for Samsung Galaxy (1.6 or 2.0)?
The phone uses pure Android, i really dont see why those updates cant be available. Its hardware is so much better than HTC's Magic and it is cheaper (half of the price, at least where I live) . I was almost buying a Galaxy, but when I found out about these update restrictions, I was forced to turn it down (without 2.0 no multitouch on android...).
Is there any means of updating android on this phone bypassing Samsung's software?

I guess for usin multitouch you need hardware for it. Hero has it. ı don't know if galaxy has. I will buy my galaxy in about ten days. one way or another we will get 2.0

I just read on the O2 website that Samsung won't be supporting past 1.5!! Means no Android 2.0 for users, unless they do it themselves.
