hi

Just wanted to ask how u experience the galaxy in batterylife.
I live in Sweden and it hasnt released here yet, hopefully coming out this month.
The thing is, i want to use this phone at work aswell as off work, and when im at work i need it to last atleast 8 hours +/- one or two hours of musicplaying.
Im mostly listening to the radio, and as the galaxy doesnt have a radio built in (whats with all these "smartphones", none of them have it) ill have to listen to the radio through the web and im guessing that will drain alot of battery.
Will the galaxy last for a whole day then?

thx

I have got my I7500 yesterday and fully charged the battery. I have called for like 15 minutes and downloaded some apps and my battery is down. I have to recharge. So from 7 am till 14.30 it functioned and now i can't be called or being textmessaged.
I'm scared it will be a rough year for me with this phone.

I will let you know my experience the next two days.

Have to agree, the Batt life is PANTS!!
Fine as just a phone, it lasts for a couple of days. But as soon as you start to play - that's it, battery starts to die rapidly.
Any ideas to make it last would be good!!!

If you havnt already done so, download the latest NPS and update to the latest firmware. Anything above G8 will show significant battery improvements. The latest is I5

(A= january, B = Feburary, etc, and the number = build number. So I5 = September build 5)

The latest NPS will now sync and everything else too

There is a known problem that the case depresses the camera button which stops the phone from going into full sleep. Try the phone without the case for a day (or pull it out of the case and put it on your desk whenever possible) and notice the massive difference! Just try it out of the case overnight, to see you'll have a 0% battery drop overnight!

Just these two changes will improve battery from 1 day to 2.5 days - including medium usage.

Other things you can do..

- Turn off google autosync - who needs it, unless you need instant gmail
- Turn off background data - most widgets don't need it, and if you're not auto syncing its not really necesary
- Use 2G mode and toggle to 3G if you need to use the web. The I5 build has a new switcher app - similar to the free ones you get on market to toggle wifi etc.

Leave it out of the case and you'll see a big difference.

What region is your phone? i.e. where did you buy it from? Germany, Italy, UK, Russia?

You can use the latest NPS to update it for most regions. You can get it from here:

http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/do...lName=GT-I7500

Install the software first, then enable 'usb debugging' on your phone (settings -> application -> development)

Plug in your phone, and if windows can't find the drivers point it to the drivers in c:\program files\Samsung\New PC Studio\USB Drivers

Then launch NPS and click the update button. If you're region is supported it will update your phone to the latest (II5). Remember you'll loose all the information on your phone.

If it says no update available then you need to use another way to update it, but then your region is important to know.

EDIT: the first post is in moderation because it contains a link to the new pc studio. hopefully it should appear above this one soon!

Ok so you should install the latest NPS and update with it. If you're not taken upto II5 then post back here.

I managed to install PC Studio (First time ever I might add), Although when I connect the phone, it can't find the drivers. I've pointed it towards the mentioned address above, and nothing.

Any idea's?

- Not that I think it makes a difference, but i'm UK based.

Thanks
