Froyo 2.2 and Tethering ??

OK silly me... I have the Froyo update on my N1... didn't think about the tethering option that came with the update and I went to T-Mobile today and got a webconnect stick. That I'll be paying $40/month for. I tested out the tethering on my laptop and it works!
I have 14 days to return the stick and get out of the contract... so... I have some questions...
Has anyone used the tethering a lot? Is there a limit to how much you can use it ? (i signed up for the 5G plan)
Not planning on streaming movies or anything with it (though it would be cool) But what is the overall speed (when I tested it out at home, it wasn't too bad).

Just looking for overall advice/suggestions/thoughts on the tethering vs. webconnect stick

From what I have seen it is about the same. I had a USB stick for Verizon before and now I use the wireless tether option on my rooted Droid and have noticed no differences at all. I would save some cash and use the phone. If you tether with the USB cord then you won't have to worry about draining your phones battery level either.
